Glenfiddich Pure Malt Old Reserve 1990s

Glenfiddich Pure Malt Old Reserve 1990s

The famous Speyside distillery never fails to amaze even the pickiest of whisky lovers, and Glenfiddich Special Old Reserve Pure Malt is proof of that. In this case, the fresh and fruity nose, a Glenfiddich specialty, is complemented by coconut shavings and a bit of nuttiness. The taste is mostly sweet, but with slight herbal and bitter oak notes topped off with a long dusty finish with pleasant licorice aftertaste. Glenfiddich Special Old Reserve Pure Malt is a very fine scotch whisky, definitely worth trying!

We managed to win an auction for this collector’s Glenfiddich Pure Malt Old Reserve bottle, estimated to be from an early 1990s batch. While it is needless to introduce Glenfiddich to the whisky lovers, its interestingly sized 1.125 litre bottle, makes this particular bottle a collectable whisky.

Navigating through this site, it becomes clear that whisky has a strong collectable market and can serve both as a perfect gift and an investment.

Some weeks ago, I reviewed another collectable bottle, however from a personal perspective, I believe their value differs entirely. Whereas the Irish whiskey is collectable for the theme – Peaky Blinders, this Glenfiddich bottle is collectable because of its brand, bottle size and bottling age, hence it safe to say that they target different collectors.
